The license
Speechy is licensed to you, not sold. When you buy, you get one license key for your account.
- Lifetime: a one-time purchase that lets you use Speechy, including all future updates, on as many Macs at the same time as you have seats. The first Mac is included; extra Macs are bought as seats on your license page.
- Monthly: a subscription that lets you use Speechy on one Mac while it's active. It renews every month until you cancel. After you cancel, Speechy keeps working until the end of the period you paid for.
You can use Speechy for personal and work purposes. You may not share, sell or publish your key, or let more Macs use it than you have seats for.
Activation and your Macs
Speechy needs to be activated on each Mac over the internet. It then checks your license from time to time and works offline for up to 7 days after the last successful check.
You can see your Macs and remove one on your license page, which frees its seat for another Mac. Reinstalling Speechy on the same Mac doesn't use an extra seat.
Refunds: 7-day money-back guarantee
If Speechy isn't right for you, you can get a full refund of any purchase within 7 days of making it, no questions asked. This covers Lifetime, extra seats, and the first payment of a Monthly subscription.
Refund yourself from your license page at speechy.tech/license, or email contact@speechy.tech. Refunds go back to your original payment method and usually arrive in 5 to 10 business days.
Once a purchase is refunded, the Macs that depend on it stop working with Speechy. Refunding a Lifetime license also ends the extra seats bought for it. After 7 days, purchases are not refundable except where the law says otherwise.
Payments and taxes
Prices are in US dollars and are shown before you pay. Payments are processed by Stripe.
Updates
Speechy updates itself automatically; you can turn this off in Settings. Updates may add, change or remove features. Lifetime licenses include all future updates at no extra cost.
Your content and optional services
What you dictate is yours, and it stays on your Mac. Speech recognition can make mistakes, so check anything important before you send or rely on it.
Some optional features use accounts you have with other services (for example Claude Code or Codex). Those services are covered by their own terms, and you're responsible for how you use them.
If you record other people, you're responsible for having their permission where the law requires it.
What you may not do
- Share, resell or publish your license key, or use it on more Macs than you have seats for.
- Remove, bypass or tamper with the license check, or reverse engineer Speechy except where the law allows it.
- Use Speechy or the website to break the law, spread malware, or attack our systems.
If you break these terms we may end your license. We'll tell you why by email.
Changes to Speechy and these terms
We may change Speechy and the website over time. If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll update this page and tell you by email before the change applies to you.
Warranty disclaimer
Speechy is provided as is. We work hard to make it reliable, but we don't promise it will be error free or always available, as far as the law allows.
Limitation of liability
As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be excluded.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of India.
General
If part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. These terms are the whole agreement between you and Speechy about the app and the website.
