CaptionsBeta
Captions show what Speechy says when your Mac is muted. The line appears on a pill just under the notch, and the word being spoken lights up as it goes. Turn it on in Settings, General, Appearance, Captions, and pick the highlight's text and background colours.

Questions
They only show while your Mac is muted or its volume is at zero, and only when Speak answers is on in Settings, Audio, Voiceover.
Just under the notch, whether it's open, peeking or closed. It follows the notch as the chat grows or folds.
They're close estimates. Speechy times each word by its length, with a short pause after commas and full stops.
